December Was a Busy Month at the Bastrop Public Library

The big event was the Annual Holiday Open House complete with a visit from Santa Claus, music from harpist Monica Miller and The Honor Choir. There was an amazing turnout of 1,208 people, enjoying the 81 dozen cookies, hot drinks, and punch.

The kids got creative

And of course, all 300 gingerbread houses were decorated and taken home by happy children.

The teens helped decorate the library’s float for the Lighted Christmas Parade.

Thanks to all the wonderful staff at the library for organizing all these activities!

We also say a warm thanks to all the volunteers who helped make the gingerbread house structures before the big day, those who brought cookies, and all the adults and teens who helped during the open house. It wouldn’t happen without the community involvement.
