Investing in the Pressley Meeting Room

Last year, the Friends of the Bastrop Public Library replaced the well-loved but aging tables in the Pressley Meeting Room. Building on that investment, the Friends are now beginning work on our next major initiative: investing in technology and the acoustics of the Pressley Meeting Room, one of the library's most important gathering spaces.

The Pressley Meeting Room is used year-round for library programs, educational workshops, and meetings of local nonprofits, civic organizations, and community groups. Our vision is to modernize presentation capabilities and upgrade the room’s acoustics and sound amplification with an integrated, easy-to-use system—creating a more welcoming, accessible, and functional space for everyone who gathers there.

A Room That Brings Our Community Together

Every year, organizations like these rely on the Pressley Meeting Room:

• Bastrop County Master Gardener Association

• Bastrop County Beekeepers Association

• Various Bastrop County Homeschool Groups

• Coalition of Democratic Allies

• Religious Organizations

• And Dozens of Library Programs for Patrons of All Ages

Nonprofit groups, community groups and library partners may use the room free of charge. Commercial, political, and private meetings pay a small fee.

Help Us Upgrade the Pressley Room

Our current goal is to raise $40,000 to equip the Pressley Meeting Room with modern, reliable technology and improved acoustics for library programs and community use. Gifts of every size will help create a better gathering space for Bastrop.
